Superhero Half Marathon for Wils

Superhero Half-Marathon in Honor of Wils Banu

On May 19th 2019, Allison DeMeo and Kelly Callahan, both Sophomores at Boston College, will be running a Superhero Half-Marathon in Morristown, New Jersey. While they train for the race, they hope to raise awareness and funds for Usher syndrome research. Usher syndrome is the most common genetic cause of combined deafblindness.

Allison runs for a cure on behalf of her cousin Wils, who was born with Type 2 Usher syndrome. Both Allison and Kelly love spending time with Wils as Kelly has become Wils’ babysitter. Allison and Kelly love to be around Wils as he is incredibly smart, outgoing, and adorable. Allison’s strong interest in genetic studies along with her love for Wils, as well as Kelly’s growing friendship with Wils, has made the girls eager to run the race for a greater cause.

Please consider donating as Allison and Kelly train to run 13.1 miles on behalf of Wils and the Usher Syndrome community.
