The Usher Syndrome Society supports accessibility campaigns: “Paint it Yellow” and #YellowtheWorld
The Usher Syndrome Society is proud to support Virginia-based Girl Scout Troop 1673 in their campaign Paint it Yellow. This campaign aims to improve accessibility for people with low vision and Troop 1673 is committed to working with their local legislators to attain better marked sidewalks, crosswalks, stairs, and painting park benches yellow for public awareness.
This campaign was inspired by Dario Sorgato’s #YellowtheWorld initiative, which highlights the accessibility needs of individuals with vision loss. Dario began to #YellowtheWorld in 2014 and in his efforts, he has traveled to Helsinki, Mount Everest Base Camp, Reykjavik Iceland, Berlin, and Munich Germany, and all over Italy.
In 2020, the Usher Syndrome Society featured Dario in one of the first Sense Stories to share his incredible efforts in an even broader scale.
