See Us, Hear Us: An Immersive Exhibition for Usher syndrome
On Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, the Usher Syndrome Society HOSTED SEE US, HEAR US: An immersive digital experience at ARTECHOUSE NYC, bringING a decade of storytelling to life.
On the evening of Thursday, October 23rd, The Usher Syndrome Society hosted See Us, Hear Us at ARTECHOUSE NYC, sharing over a decade of photography, films, and stories. From the debut of our documentary sizzle, to showcasing hundreds of portraits taken as part of our Shine a Light Exhibit, to creating breathtaking animations with microscopic imagery captured by our scientists working on Usher syndrome research, this event was truly one for the books.
Utilizing ARTECHOUSE’s state-of-the-art technology, attendees were fully immersed in a visual spectacle, an educational experience, and a journey into the reality of living with Usher syndrome, the leading genetic cause of combined deafness and blindness. The immersive gallery was flooded with floor-to-ceiling portraits that moved energetically across the room spotlighting the faces of the Usher syndrome community, while surround sound speakers projected the raw and emotional stories that we have collected over the years to educate the public about this rare disease.
This event had a phenomenal turn out and we want to extend a sincere thank you to everybody who attended this event! All ticket proceeds go directly towards supporting Usher syndrome research. Thank you to our sponsors who made this event possible: Game Apparel, The Prince Family Foundation, The Corderman Family Fund, BlueRock Therapeutics, the Jordan-Wysocki Family, JCyte, and Mabely Q. Plus, a tremendous thank you to our creative team and the folks at ARTECHOUSE who brought our vision to life!
