USH X Urban Wild 2025

The Usher Syndrome Society’s annual fundraising event is dedicated to raising vital funds for Usher syndrome (USH) research, while simultaneously educating the public about living with this rare disease. The evening includes interactive experiences where attendees can harness their inner strength and understand some of the challenges faced by someone living with Usher syndrome while also learning more about USH, the Usher Syndrome Society, and the research their contributions are helping to fund.

This year, the Usher Syndrome Society’s Sight, Sound, & Strength fundraiser was held at Urban Wild Boston on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025 in honor of Giving Tuesday.

Urban Wild is a restaurant, beer garden, bowling alley, live music venue, and outdoor game space, all-in-one! This year’s program featured a special musical guest, Mark Erelli, a touring folk singer-songwriter living with Retinitis Pigmentosa. Prior to performing some of his songs, Mark was joined on stage by Rebecca Alexander, an USH Society ambassador and board member, to talk about his experience as a musician living with vision loss. There was also a special preview of the Usher Syndrome Society’s sizzle film for a documentary project about Usher syndrome.

Throughout the evening, attendees participated in experiential activities such as a blind beer tasting and blind bowling. The event space was also filled with a number of portraits from the Usher Syndrome Society’s Shine a Light Exhibit.

We are so grateful for the support of all of our sponsors (scroll down past the photos to check them out!) and to all of our attendees.

All of the proceeds go directly to research for Usher syndrome.
