See Us, Hear Us Immersive Exhibition at ARTECHOUSE NYC
On Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 The Usher Syndrome Society hosted See Us, Hear Us at ARTECHOUSE NYC, sharing over a decade of photography, films, and stories. From debuting our documentary sizzle to showcasing hundreds of Shine a Light portraits and breathtaking animations created from microscopic imagery captured by our scientists, this event was truly one for the books.
Guests were immersed in a powerful visual and educational experience that portrayed the reality of living with Usher syndrome. Floor-to-ceiling portraits filled the space and moved across the room, spotlighting our community, while surround-sound audio shared the raw and emotional stories we have gathered over the years.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who joined us, and to our generous sponsors who made this event possible: Game Apparel, The Prince Family Foundation, The Corderman Family Fund, BlueRock Therapeutics, the Jordan-Wysocki Family, JCyte, and Mabely Q.
A special thank you to our creative team: Nancy Corderman, Eliza Corderman, Liz Padilla, Jason Losser, and Bart Baldwin.
See Us, Hear Us featured a display of animated microscopic images, which were taken as part of our groundbreaking project called the Pipeline for Usher Syndrome Research (PUSH) at Boston Children’s Hospital. Thank you to the Koehler lab, and the Holt/Géléoc Lab, both at Boston Children’s Hospital, for capturing these spectacular images! We are very grateful for your incredible work.
